Chicago's Treologic Wins IMWS Midwest Title
|

Chicago hip-hop act Treologic emerged as the winner of the Disc Makers Independent Music World Series (IMWS) Midwest showcase held May 12 at the Elbo Room in the group's hometown. The $35,000 grand prize package includes recording gear, instruments, CD manufacturing services, DJ equipment, and more.
The group came out ahead of five other acts judged by a panel that included members of Carlos Santana's band and representatives from ASCAP, Universal Music, Future Entertainment, Midway Games, Coachhouse Music, Bloodshoot Records and the Illinois Entertainer.
"The IMWS was a great experience for all of us in Treologic," says keyboard player Lance Loiselle. "We could tell from the very beginning that this was a show and competition different and better than any we had associated with before. The folks at Disc Makers understand what it is like to be a struggling indie artist with a day gig to pay the bills and burning the midnight oil to get ahead. That is the essence of why this show was put together. Thank you to Disc Makers, all the sponsors, and all the competing acts for this great experience."
Treologic blends the hip-hop, gospel and jazz influences of the Windy City. Led by MC Billa Camp, the seven-piece group prides itself on positive messages. More information on the act can be found at its Web site, www.treologicmusic.com.
The IMWS is produced by Disc Makers, a leading CD manufacturer for independent musicians. IMWS showcases are held in each of four regions throughout the country (West, Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast). The regional focus of IMWS helps independent musicians make an impact in their own backyard and make connections that can help advance their careers. The competition is open to musicians of all genres not currently signed to a major record label.
